Thony Low, at just 20 years old, is already a name to be reckoned with in the entrepreneurial world. He is not your typical young adult, while his peers are focused on academic studies, he’s already making waves as a key player at Trend Global, a company he helped pioneer since 2023.
“It’s not the mountain you conquer, but ourselves” – Edmund Hillary
Thony’s story began in early February 2023 when he met with the CEO of Trend Global. With no prior work experience, he took a leap of faith after being drawn to the company’s vision and mission. He became part of the founding team, helping to lay the foundation for the business as well as assisting in providing digital marketing services to small companies. Despite being new to the workforce, this bold move positioned Thony as a revenue generator.
In August 2024, Thony achieved his biggest milestone yet—an incredible RM250K in sales. This was no small feat for someone still balancing university studies and learning the ropes of the business world. This wasn’t just about numbers for him; it was the culmination of months of hard work, learning, and relentless perseverance.
Along the way, when the company launched a new Digital Entrepreneur Program(DEP), an initiative that provides opportunity for developing young digital entrepreneurs, Thony was assigned to overlook the success of the program.
But the road to success was not without its challenges.
As a young entrepreneur with no prior experience, Thony had to master personal growth, closing skills, and the intricacies of digital strategies to reach customers. These were not things he learned overnight. It took countless hours of studying, experimenting, and daily monitoring with his team of 12 people.
Through these experiences, Thony not only learned leadership and marketing skills but also how to transfer those skills to others. His team became his greatest source of inspiration, pushing him to reach greater heights.
One of the key turning points in Thony’s journey was the decision to bring his brother into the business. The collaboration between the two marked the beginning of a new phase of the team expansion. Together, they had successfully built a cooperative dynamic, transferring skills and leading the team forward.
Reflecting on his role as one of the pioneers and leader of Trend Global, Thony describes his experience as “one in a million,” a rare opportunity to grow alongside the company and shape its future.
“It’s not just about sales and money,” Thony says.
“It’s about learning life skills, handling challenges, and becoming someone better.”
He credits his leaders and mentors for teaching him not just the intricacies of business, but how to navigate life, build character, and set higher standards for himself.
“The company doesn’t just want you to achieve sales; it wants to take you to a higher stage in life,” he explains. It’s a philosophy that resonates deeply with him as he continues to sharpen his skills, knowing that his only real limit is himself.
